The New York Dog Magazine is working with Marcello Forte of Animal Haven and The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals to make New York a no-kill city. Last year, 40,000 animals were killed in New York City alone simply because they did not have a home – let’s work to stop the euthanasia of New York’s adoptable animals. If you’d like to join The New York Dog Magazine in the Take The Lead Campaign, adopt a pet from a no-kill shelter. The links below will lead you to a no-kill shelter and help you adopt a little New Yorker today!

Rally to Rescue
The Purina Pro Plan Rally to Rescue program is a non-profit campaign designed to raise funds and awareness for small pet rescue organizations nationwide. In support of the campaign, Pro Plan designed matching collars for pets and wristbands for pet lovers. The sets are available for $5 online www.rallytorescue.org and through local pet rescue organizations coast to coast. Net proceeds from on-line and rescue organization sales will benefit participating organizations, with a campaign goal to raise more than $1 million.
Smaller pet rescue organizations place nearly a half a million dogs and cats in homes each year, but are often overlooked by potential donors and adopters due to their more limited fundraising and marketing capabilities. For more information on Rally to Rescue, visit www.rallytorescue.org.
